Listening to Sam's Town from The Killers. This is one of my favorite albums to listen to when I am feeling down. Perfect mix of angsty lyrics and flowing, synthesized sound.

The garden is blooming despite the weird weather. Seriously, today it was cold. Cold, on July 24th. In Summer. In "sunny" California. WTF. Tomatoes are not here though; just the little cherry ones. There are some at the farmer's markets but they aren't from around here, they're getting driven in from somewhere.

Zinnias...

Ms. Spider living under this Daisy (I think it's a daisy)....

Some neat Dahlias...

It's begun, these are the plum trees in the backyard..

The lawn will be covered, I give it a week. This is just the beginning...

Last year I made crisp but we mostly ate them straight up and gave a bunch away. Been playing with puff pastry at work; I think I'll make some plum gallettes or turnovers. Yum.

I found this awesome fabric at the fabric thrift shop. Fabric is $2 a pound there and it's so lightweight that I got nearly 6 yards for less than $2! It's polyester but if you squint your eyes it kinda looks like Dupioni Silk, which I love. If you stare at it, it looks like the kind of fabric that windbreakers were made of. Remember windbreakers? My dad used to sport a rad yellow one in the early 90's. And it's my favorite color, navy! Anyway I love it and I am making a tube dress with it.
